How to install Minecraft plugins and server setups

Add plugins to a Paper or Spigot server, install a complete server setup, a map or a resource pack.

Minecraft resources are usually plugins (.jar files), server setups (a full server folder with plugins and configs), maps / schematics or resource packs.

Check compatibility first

• The Details tab lists the server software (Paper, Spigot, Purpur…) and the Minecraft versions supported.

• Many plugins need dependencies (for example Vault, ProtocolLib, PlaceholderAPI, LuckPerms). Install them too.

Install a plugin

1. Stop your server.

2. Copy the .jar file into the plugins folder of the server.

3. Start the server once: the plugin creates its folder in plugins/ with its configuration files.

4. Edit the configuration (config.yml, messages.yml…), then restart the server or use the plugin's reload command if it has one.

• Check the console at startup: an error naming the plugin usually means a missing dependency or a wrong Minecraft version.

Install a complete server setup

1. Make a backup of your current server.

2. Extract the archive into an empty folder and copy your server .jar if it is not included.

3. Follow the setup guide: database settings (MySQL credentials in the configs), your server name, IP and Discord links in the messages.

4. Start the server and check the console for errors before opening it to players.

Maps, spawns and schematics

• World folders: copy the folder next to the server .jar and set level-name in server.properties, or import it with a world manager plugin.

• Schematics (.schem / .schematic): put them in plugins/WorldEdit/schematics (or FastAsyncWorldEdit), then use //schem load <name> and //paste in game.

Resource packs and data packs

• Resource packs: host the .zip on a direct download link and set resource-pack (and its sha1) in server.properties, or install it in your own client's resourcepacks folder.

• Data packs: copy them into world/datapacks and run /reload or restart.

Need help?

• Send the seller your server version, the plugin list (/plugins) and the console error from Account → Orders → Contact seller.
